Ways to prevent this from happening:
1. Don’t Leave Your Vehicle Running Unattended
Unless you have command start where your vehicle can be safely running with the doors locked, don’t leave your vehicle running unattended. Always turn the vehicle off and lock it if you are going to be leaving it.
2. Use an Anti-Theft Device
Applying a steering wheel or tire lock to your vehicle will make it very hard for the thieves to steal it. There are also GPS trackers which can be installed into your vehicle making it very easy for police to find if it is stolen.
3. Park in Well-Lit/Safe Areas
If you have a garage always park in it. Anything you do to make it harder for a vehicle thief to get your vehicle will lower the chances of it being stolen. If you don’t own a garage and have to park on the street, try to park in a place that is well-lit like under a street lamp.
These tips may seem like common sense, but these are some of the most common reasons why vehicles are stolen in the first place. Hopefully some of these tips helped you determine a way to keep your vehicle safer.
