Due to Covid-19 things have been changing drastically when it comes to our norms at the workplace. One of those changes is people now working remotely. Even though it is a great option for many of us, it still comes with other challenges and maintaining a good sense of mental health is one of them. Check out these tips below to help you maintain your mental health while working remotely.
1. Set a Schedule
Wake up in the morning and be sure to carry on with the same schedule that you had before you started working remotely. For example, if you always woke up an hour before work to shower and eat continue to do so! If you need some time to sit down and unwind with a break like you did at work, schedule breaks at the same time as you had at your job and maintain that same schedule. This will help you get organized and separate your home life from your workplace life when you are off work.
2. Take Care of Yourself
Make sure that you are still eating healthy and getting exercise regularly. Take breaks and even though it might be challenging, try to make sure you’re not working past your scheduled times. You must also make sure you are still maintaining an efficient amount of sleep which would be 7 – 9 hours a day. These tips should always be practiced regardless of you working remotely!
3. Keep in Touch
Working remotely can make people feel disconnected. Be sure to maintain contact with the people you work with to help maintain the social connection and aspect of being at work. Check in with people and stay connected!
It’s very important to remember to take care of yourself. Working remotely is incredibly convenient, but it’s still imperative to pay attention to your mental health. Stay safe out there!
