Every savvy business owner is looking for new ways to grow their business! Improve your business almost immediately with these 5 Tips below:
1. Get a Website (You Don’t Have to Know Code)
When people think of having a website built they think of it costing an exponential amount of money and being extremely complex. In reality, creating a website has never been so simple to do. As long as you aren’t looking for a complex website that utilizes some sort of intricate software, it is very simple to build without any coding knowledge. Even to have your website include online ordering or an online sales system is fairly simple to set up.
2. List Locally in Online Business Directories
There are multiple search sites people use to find businesses such as Yelp, Foursquare, Zomato, Google My Business, etc. These sites can list business info and a website for free (or really cheap), which is ideal, especially if the website is local. Listing a website as a local business on sites like these improves website ranking in the search engine for local searches for the target line of business.
3. Partner with Local Businesses or Organizations
Find local businesses or organizations that might fit the target demographic and set up a meeting with them offering a discounted service to that group. For example, a mechanic could target a hospital and offer a 10% discount to anyone who is employed there. There could be a lot of people working there who don’t repair their own vehicles and this would give them incentive to use that specific repair shop.

4. Improve Your Business by Getting on Social Media
This one is a huge pain in the side for a lot of businesses as they don’t feel like it creates them enough money to support it. But the truth is, this is one of the greatest ways to communicate with clients and give a face to the brand. The platforms are completely free to use and some of them, like Facebook, allow people to leave reviews (which I will cover the importance of in the next point). Just take 30 minutes a day to plan a few social media posts over the course of a month. You don’t have to do one every 2nd day, but try to create at least one engaging post a week so people know that the page is active and to keep the business top of their mind.
5. Get Great Online Reviews for Instant Social Proof
This one is huge! Now after the business listings are all up and running pay close attention to the online review base, as people will come across these when researching a business. The most common ones that will be viewed are Google reviews and Facebook reviews, but focus on getting Google reviews as these improve ranking in the local business listing pages when people are searching for your line of business.
How does one get these great reviews you ask? Whenever a client is leaving very happy with the service you provided, don’t hesitate to ask them to leave you a review on Google. They will usually leave a review and also give you a 5 star rating. Also, the reason why it says “instant” social proof is because whenever someone wants to know if the business is good, they can instantly see it by looking the business up and reading other people’s experiences (social proof).
Now I know that if you, like any small business, implement these tactics mentioned above it will exponentially improve your business and push you to the top of the local business empire!
